The island of Mauritius is the best-run country in Africa, Somalia the worst, and Liberia the fastest-improving, according to a comprehensive index of governance standards in the region. It showed that 31 out of 48 countries in sub-Saharan Africa had recorded better scores than last year. The index measures governance by assessing political participation, human rights and the rule of law, transparency, corruption, development and economic opportunity. For full article
