Schools out for...rainy season

Today is the last day of school for the academic year 2007/08. Hurray. The kids are all very tired, because the field service programme for the ship does not allow for half-term holidays, or even an Easter holiday, so their last real break was over Christmas and New Year. The ship's programme also dictates that we stay operational in Africa over the rainy season...so the kids have got 7 weeks off in the middle of rainy season. Last year, their Summer Program (kids club) did a lot of activities in the rain - lets see what this year's programme and weather combine to make. Olly

Dear Olly what an amazing blog you have kept. I had seen it advertised in the SBC news sheet and I am enjoying looking at your news while Richard watches football. So glad I found time to read the last few months . I do hope the children enjoy a well earned rest. WE have until July 18th before the holidays. Hi there Peets! Yes, it's been good to read your news... we hope and pray that these weeks of school holidays go well. Can't quite imagine how that will go in the rainy season! We're in the midst of Alastair's GCSEs here... all going ok apart from the fact he got attacked in half term and was left with a broken collar bone. Prayer has made a significant difference and he is coping well. All for now, take care, God bless, Anthea C xx
